Michelle Pilon, Pastel Artist
Michelle Pilon

Most of Michelle's inspiration comes from nature and its wildlife, but her attention has turned towards other subjects as well, such as chidren and portraits of people.

Though starting out with pencil as her medium, she has since experimented with coloured pencil, acrylics, and finally chalk pastel which she enjoys working wth the most. Michelle's style is very realistic. She enjoys the challenges of grasping every detail, to seem as if you were observing the actual subject with your own eyes.

Michelle is mostly self taught. She has attended a number of art classes and workshops, as there is always new tips to learn and experiment with, when growing as an artist. She has won many ribbons and awards at exhibits such as the Prairieland Exhibition Fine Art Competition and the annual Reflections of Nature Wildlife Art Show in which she has judged the junior level. In July 2000, was her first time attending the Rivers Art Festival in North Battleford, where she won the Peoples Choice Award.

Michelle works out of her home, now in Calgary, Alberta, where she resides with her husband, Clint and their two children.
